In the year 2005, NBSHM (NORTH BENGAL SCHOOL OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT) started its Franchisee at Upper Johnson Hatta, Sonada, Darjeeling, whose main centre was situated in Siliguri at Hakim Para, West Bengal. It was affiliated with Vinayaka Mission University of Salem Tamil Nadu in the year 2006.
On 18th of May 2012, NBSHM has changed its identity VIZ...NBIHM (NORTH BENGAL INSTITUTE OF HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT), which has been Regd. under Govt. of West Bengal Act XXVI of 1961. NBIHM was the authorized Study Centre of Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya.
On 20th of July 2017, NBIHM is registered its affiliation to Manipal, City & Guilds, UK (MCG) which later on changed to City & Guilds, South Asia (CGSA).
